The most famous islander this year is Gemma Owen, who is the daughter of former England Player Michael Owen. Michael is still on TV today as a pundit and is well known for his horse racing stables where he has many well-bred racehorses.

We are expecting Gemma to be a popular contestant and will start as joint favourite at odds of 11/4 to be Top Female.

For the boys it’s Welshman Liam who is the clear favourite to be top Male at 5/2. He doesn’t look the normal profile of a Love Island winner so this could prove to be a very short price for those backing him pre-show.

Over the course of the show there will be up to 30 contestants going in and out of the villa. Normally the series lasts around 6-8 weeks so they have plenty of time to mix things up. ITV need to keep it interesting so they will change the dynamics to keep viewings and ratings as high as possible.

Presenting the show is newlyweds Laura Whitmore (Stirling) and Iain Stirling. Laura is the face of the show and turns up at the villa for the crucial dumping’s and arrivals. Iain is the commentator who spills out line after line to have us laughing at the expense of islanders.

It’s less than a week to go until the first islanders enter the villa and then we can sit back and wait for the drama, the arguments, the funny moments, the crazy new words they will come up with and ultimately see who wins the £50,000.
